P2E then expanded operations to multiple premier destinations, including del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo, New York, Colonial Downs Racetrack and several Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums in Virginia, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Sioux City, Iowa, and DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel in Bossier City, Louisiana. With the emphasis of improving the cities in which Peninsula Gaming’s properties operated, the company opened another Diamond Jo property in Northwood, Iowa, as well as Amelia Belle Casino in Amelia, Louisiana, Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Opelousas, Louisiana, and Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas. The undertaking revitalized downtown Dubuque, improved the local economy with the addition of jobs and brought tax revenues to the city. The company invested in the property, improving its operations, and eventually opening a new land-based casino.
